A Practice by AJ

Welcome to the Trail!
I'm AJ, the founder of Terrain, and I make things by hand.
Terrain was born out of an urgent need to slow down and reconnect to what's real, and a mission I started in my twenties to live a life that felt more grounded and harmonious with my environment.
I spent ten years working in fast paced tech companies doing post sales operations. I loved making things work behind the scenes and watching how a solid foundation can propel the success of others. I crushed at my job, yet I struggled to feel attached to those accomplishments, sitting in my home on my laptop. Suffering from migraines and extreme cognitive dissonance between my real life and virtual work life, I knew there had to be a better way to spend my days.
Before entering the matrix (and the pandemic), I was a social worker, teacher, social justice warrior, and extreme extrovert. I missed building connection and community. This is the seed from which Terrain grew.
I've always loved "old fashioned" things - gardening, cooking, baking, sewing - and my extreme hyperactivity [ADHD] makes me a bit of a serial hobbyist. I've got a lot of talents, hobbies and lessons learned to share. Terrain is where you can find it all.
Here is where we get back to ground. Here is where we grow to our full potential.
